About Unraveling the Knot
I created Unraveling the Knot to support people navigating the practical side of divorce — the paperwork, decisions, deadlines, housing questions, and countless details that can quickly feel overwhelming.
I know that feeling firsthand. I've been through divorce myself, and I remember how much there was to sort through at a time when just getting through the day felt like enough. That experience, more than anything, is what drew me to this work.
For more than 15 years, I've helped clients bring calm, structure, and clarity to that process. I'm a certified Divorce Coach, and about 15 years ago I co-founded Second Saturday Maine, now Maine Divorce Workshop — one of the area's first educational workshops for people thinking about or going through divorce. My background also includes 25 years as an educator and years of running small businesses, which taught me how to break complex, overwhelming situations into clear, manageable steps.
I also worked as a licensed Realtor with a Certified Real Estate Divorce Specialist designation and understand how complicated decisions about the home can become during divorce — and how emotionally loaded those decisions are.
While I don't replace legal, financial , or therapeutic professionals, I help clients sort through the practical details, ask better questions, and feel more prepared for the decisions ahead.
Unraveling the Knot is my passion project — because I believe people deserve steady, compassionate support during one of life's most difficult transitions, and because I know, personally, what a difference it makes.
